Though known by several names, Aberdeen is most famous as the Granite City. The Union Street Town House with its spectacular turrets, the Citadel with its castellations located at The Castlegate, and the impressive gothic-style Marischal College, which is the world’s 2nd largest structure in granite, all of which are fine specimens of the most well-known export of Aberdeen.

The Granite Mile carries all the most famous haute couture names and they’re all housed within the 5 main shopping centers indoors. The biggest are the St. Nicholas, Mall Trinity, and Bon Accord while the Academy and the Galleria carry a selection of more intimate boutique-style stores.
